ADRENAL COCKTAIL
The adrenals are the housing unit for Vitamin C. When we are stressed, over-exercise, over-eat, do not get good sleep, stay up late, work hard throughout the day, are going through emotional, physical, and mental stress or difficulties, we use up a lot of the Vitamin C in the adrenals. Therefore, you need adequate amounts of vitamin C in order for our adrenals to function properly and help us carry out daily activities without feeling completely run-down. Why make an adrenal cocktail instead of just taking a vitamin C supplement? Supplements are expensive, and most vitamin C sources such as ascorbic acid are not bioavailable. Whole food sources are bioavailable, inexpensive (or at least less expensive), and are the best way to get our vitamins and minerals in.
For women and men, I recommend making an adrenal cocktail daily. Drink this preferably between the hours of 10am and 2pm, but drinking it at any point in the day is better than not at all. Use this as a coffee replacement or in addition to coffee to get a boost of energy. You may notice this drink to be helpful for energy right away in cases of mild adrenal fatigue. In more severe cases, such as phase 3 of adrenal fatigue (chronically low cortisol), it may take a week of making adrenal cocktails to notice a boost in energy. But this drink is a game-changer for adrenal support and health!
Adrenal cocktail recipe
8 oz full-fat coconut milk
8 oz coconut water no sugar added
4 oz of fresh juice from an orange, grapefruit, or lemon (any freshly squeezed fruit known for being high in vitamin C
A pinch of celtic sea salt
¼ tsp of cream of tartar
Optional: ¼ tsp kelp powder
Optional but HIGHLY ENCOURAGED: Athlade packet
Athlade is an all-in-one packet full of bioavailable vitamin B complex in its most absorbable form. Vitamin B (there are 8 different types of vitamin B necessary for different functions in the body) is necessary for energy and overall function. However, Vitamin B is water soluble and is not stored in the body. This means you have to get your daily vitamin B from some source EVERYDAY, and most people do not get enough. Our food supply does not contain Vitamin B like it used to, and most supplemental vitamin B is not absorbable so that the body can use it. FIND THE LINK FOR ATHLADE ON MY SHOP PAGE!
